Rice - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Oil - 3 tbsp
Cloves - 2
Cashew nuts - 4 or 5
Cinnamon - 1 small piece
Cardamom - 2
Green chilli - 2
Curry leaves - 1 string
Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
Onion - 1 chopped
Potato - 1 chopped
Carrot - 1 chopped
Peas - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves - for garnishing
Salt - to taste
PREPARATION:
- Heat oil in a pan and add cashew nuts, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, green chilli, curry leaves, and fry.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and saute it.
- Add onions and fry till light brown.
- Add potato, carrot and peas, saute it. Then add salt.
- Add water and bring it to boil.
- When water boils, add rice to it and mix well.
- Transfer above mixture to electric rice cooker and let it cook OR you can transfer above mixture into steel vessel and put it in the pressure cooker for 3 or 4 whistles.
- Let it cool down and transfer to serving tray.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with raitha and salad.
