IDLY CHUTNEY


INGREDIENTS:

Putnala pappu(Roasted chik peas) - 1/2 cup
Fresh/Frozen coconut - 1 cup
Green chillis - 4
Oil - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 1
Curry leaves - 1 string

PREPARATION:

  1. Grind putnala pappu, chillis, salt and make a powder.

  2. Then add coconut and make a smooth paste adding required amount of water.

  3. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. When they splutter, add urad dal.

  4. When dal turns slightly brown, add broken red chillis, curry leaves.

  5. Fry for a little while. Pour this seasoning over chutney.

  6. Serve the chutney with dosa or idli.
